Describe the opportunity: Mythri Manasa Sangama (MMS) is an existing 3 acre farm dedicated to pesticide free, natural farming methods has been formed as a sister concern of Mythri Sarva Seva Samithi (a non profit group), located in about 15 Kms from Krishnarajapuram Railway Station, towards North of City of Bengaluru. MMS strives to become a leading producer of greens, vegetables and fruits through Natural farming, a learning platform for Urban dwellers and farmers to fasten on, and is situated at the periphery of the city. The project bases itself on four main issues. The first one is faced by the city to managers of waste, the second advances integration of informal sector in waste management, the third one rests on livelihood improvement of small farmers and the fourth attempts to evolve citizen based action on obtaining pesticide free agricultural products. By addressing these issues number of innovative solutions are offered to city’s problems starting with waste and ending with promotion of growing greens in small urban spaces by citizen groups.

The project addresses few of the key issues faced by the City and Rural dwellers such as:
-- Finding unique solutions to city’s garbage problem through decentralized approach
-- Integrating Informal system of Waste Pickers, scrap dealers and recycling industries for retrieval of recyclables which otherwise would have found its way to dump sites
-- Finding solutions for small farmers to augment/improve their livelihood through complementary farming activities, mainstreaming it to create niche markets
-- Using social media to promote pesticide free gardening in small urban spaces like balconies, terraces and kitchen garden space while promoting source separation, home composting and greater awareness on environmental impact
-- Demonstrating a model that combines multiple avenues in closed loop system of waste management for learning, exposure visits, training and replication
-- Creating a net work of citizen groups opting for pesticide free agriculture product through fair priced slots
Additional details about roles and responsibilities, expectation

Wanted for a Horticulture Produce, START UP COMPANY located in Bangalore, Field Officer to work among relevant stakeholders especially farmers, Government Officials, retail and wholesale market outlets. Job involves travel in and around Bangalore to promote, administer and manage designed programs. A degree in horticulture/agriculture produce with minimum two years experience is preferred. Proficiency in English and local languages along with possession of a two wheeler with valid license is a must. Apply with your brief resume/bio data/CV

Desired Skills:
• Focus on Horticulture Production activity at the farm, sales promotion activity, field visits, farmer engagements, meetings and training
• Ability to engage meaningfully with relevant stakeholders, influencing and negotiating skills, especially in dealing with NGOs and government officials.
• Ability to undertake unaccompanied travel in interior rural areas on motorbike.
• Training farmers for productivity enhancement in organic farming, promotion of seed banks, development of communication materials and training modules.
• Generating reports within the team, documentation and timely reporting of performance progress
• Effective verbal and written communications skills in English, including computing skills.
• Working knowledge of the local language (Kannada)

Project Location: At Project Farm located near Hoskote, Bangalore Rural
Work Area: Bangalore Rural – Hoskote, Devanahalli, Doddaballapura, Nelamangala, Ram Nagara and Kanakapura

Mythri Manasa Sangama (MMS) is one of our flag ship projects, a business proposition that will hone your unique skills and provide an experiential platform beyond degrees from colleges and universities. The tasks involved in this project will cover a wide area of conducting a market analysis, engage with multiple stakeholders, scan the web to compile information, documentation and on field understanding of soil, plant, human physiology, consciousness and the holistic development of human person. Are you excited, here is the opportunity. 
We are offering two months internship for 4 young people to work as a team. Two of them will be involved in market analysis, one graphic designer (special post for launching a start up) and last, a back support activities. The task involves gathering information of existing players who supply fresh farm produce (Greens, Vegetables and Fruits) to consumers in large apartment complexes, retail and whole sale shops. For the first one week, all of you will be oriented, exposed and grounded on the realities of Farm, soil and plants and their relationship to humans and environment. Later, in accordance each one choice of working, tasks will be defined and you will be let loose on the field.

Who can apply?
-- Application dead line – End April 2018.
-- Choice of working for a duration of one or two months is available
-- Persons who are residing in Bangalore is preferred
-- Knowledge of local language is preferred but not essential
-- Fluency in English is a must
-- It is full time work ( 8 hours per day), 5 days in a week
